After the shock of being told that the pitch had been double booked we made do with the ‘cages’. This proved to be not such a bad move after all. Zach produced his well-tried format of a mini-sided hockey providing some exciting games and plenty of goals in the warm April sunshine, in spite of cooling breeze. There were enough players for a tournament of 5v5 or maybe 5v6 at times. I’m sure one of the teams must have won in the end. I’m not sure which one. It didn’t really matter. Everyone who played just got on with it and enjoyed the afternoon. Refreshments were enjoyed pitch-side during the afternoon.
Many thanks to Zach for his efforts in organising the games, all who umpired and all who supplied the food. Most enjoyable!!
