Goal scorers: Robin Stanley x3, Noor Zaman

It was a very good team display. Noor in midfield alongside Ash and Jordan bossed the game, assisted by great wing play from Para, Jahed and Sean (rotating subs).  Man of the Match Stan (hat trick) and Anthony both upfront had brilliant games. All finished off by a very strong dependable defence of Ian, Edan, Paul/Matt (rotating subs) and Jack (in goal).

An early goal calmed the visitors’ nerves and the team began to show good composure on the ball, and were always looking for space for a pass. Ash played some brilliant through balls to the strikers, who made great runs into space behind the backline guard to pick up.

Unfortunately. a few visiting players phrased their questions incorrectly to the Umpires and got cards. Stan gave his apologies to the team at half time as a difference of opinion resulted in him missing five minutes of play. Noor got ten minutes off in the second half. This team and Wolverhampton Umpires just don’t get along! But seriously, on the whole, the game was played in a very friendly / fair way, by both teams. The visiting captain certainly had no qualms about any card, as the whole team was warned before hand about the last game at this venue. The team I feel will learn a lot about the yellow card mistakes and move on with positivity.

The development of all the players throughout the squad is a joy to see, as always, we can’t rest up. Another tough opposition next week, we play fourth placed Wednesbury at home (2:15 push back.)
