In the absence of detailed information, this is just a brief summary of the match.
At the start of play CoB were level on points at the top of the league, third on goal difference.
This was a game that CoB needed to win to really keep in touch at the top. To cut a long story short, as they say, two goals from skipper Alex and Ash ensured that part one was achieved. Part 2 was also a pleasant surprise as Bromsgrove, in 2nd place, also lost. This means that, for at least one week CoB sit pretty at the top of the league.
By all accounts, the result was achieved by some hard graft, albeit together some ill-discipline at times. West Bromwich had a player red carded for violent conduct against a CoB player, throwing punches and pulling hair. CoB also had a number of cards issued.
Probably suffice to say a win is a win. Enjoy top spot while we can. Hopefully we can keep our place there!!
Next week is a home game (2.30) against Worcester 3rds. Another tough game in prospect.
