This was the re-arranged match after the original ‘freeze-off’ a few weeks ago. Since then, the team has maintained a healthy position near the top of the table.

This game started with a flourish – CoB taking the game by the scuff of its neck, so to speak, and raced into a two goal lead within the first few minutes. First of all Noor met a ball sent in from the right, turned and slammed the ball home. With another early storming attack with Alex at the heart of the move, Abrar took the ball on, into the D and fired home the second.

Although the visitors did recover from this shock. It was mainly the home side who enjoyed the better possession and created the better chances. Redditch were finding it difficult to create any sustained pressure. CoB, inspired by several good runs along the right wing by Kyle continued to create good chances but were unable to add to their impressive start. The CoB squad of 12 were rotating well and everyone seemed to be confident in what they were doing and all played their part in creating good forward pressure.

Redditch began to get a hold in the game but their chances were well held by a confident defence.

CoB’s chances were also being kept at bay by several excellent saves by the visiting keeper.

Half time arrived at CoB were happy to have made such a brilliant start.

The start of the second half saw plenty of action from both sides. Kyle missed an excellent chance when his attempt blazed over the bar. Noor almost added to his tally when another chance close to being deflected in. Redditch defence remain fairly steady limiting the effectiveness  of the CoB advances somewhat.

However, the third goal eventually came when Jeevan fired home a great shot following up on a partially cleared short corner attempt.

Redditch’s effort were becoming more confident and effective during this period and it led to them pulling a goal back. A cross from their right, beat all CoB defenders, for once, and was pounced upon to reduce the arrears.

The end game consisted of promising forward play from both sides. Alex received the ball in a good position in the D. However, his shot was well-saved by the busy visiting keeper. CoB’s fourth goal resulted from another short corner when Noor scored his second of the game.

Very late on, Redditch forced a couple of short corners, forced Neal into some rare action. At the final whistle, CoB had gained another impressive win and in the process re-gained top spot in the league.

Next up is an away game against Edgbaston 4ths
