The Club is delighted to report that the recent Race Night proved to be a tremendous success both in terms of funds raised for the Club and as a social occasion.

This was the first time the Club had decided to include a food option for this event. After the success of the Curry option at the autumn quiz it was decided to include a Burger Night, using the same MAB Catering services. The Burger option proved to be quite popular and at the start of the evening those who had ordered their Burgers were treated to another enjoyable start to the event. The Club was delighted with the number of members, friends and family who attended, both as those who had ordered food and those who had come along to watch the races and have a little flutter as well.

In total 104 horses had been sold/bought this year and so they were all accommodated into Races 1-5 with the additional A race alongside to give 10 winners for these races and 1 each for Races 6-8 Race 9 was the traditional Auction Race and our resident auctioneers, Edan and Jack, did their best to get punters to part with their money. This feature raised over £100 in total and the winning owner, Terri Chagger was pleased with her win. We thank Edan and Jack for their comedy routine!!

The Jackpot feature attracted many participants each with the hope of sharing in 50% of the kitty. In the end 5 people had to share the pot as they each had the same number of winners. So, the share was smaller than it might have been.

The raffle also raised over £100 and we thank all those who donated prizes and to Jeevan and Sean who sold the tickets.

We thank MAB Catering, Mat and colleagues, who once again did us proud with the food. We thank Adam, from Coundon Events, who once again guided us through the proceedings during the evening. We thank the Willclare bar staff who looked after us. We thank all those who have very generously sponsored our races, and to Jeevan who did all the research to gain these names and sponsors for us. We would like to thank all those who bought horses, attended and took part in the event, donated raffle prizes, and all who played their part in creating and taking part in a successful Club event. We congratulate all whose horse won its race and all Jackpot and Auction winners and all who won a raffle prize.

I am sure that the Club Treasurer will be delighted with the record amount raised for the Club.
