A late game under the lights and some optimism from earlier in the season holding this team in a 2-1 loss. But today would prove to be difficult with only 9 players playing the first half as one car was lost and unable to find the pitch.
A very make-shift defensive line of Jeevan, Zach and Junaid saw the team lose its usual midfield. Kyle returned to the side with Anthony and Taimoor in the midfield whilst Sean and Jordan held the wing. In the opening 15 minutes, the team kept Bournville at bay with several chances going wide and Neal making some tremendous saves. Bournville soon capitalised and made 3 chances count. CoB had chances of their own, Taimoor dancing past players to find Kyle, Anthony impeded before being able to make the ball. Jordan and Sean had much joy of their own too, finding space and turning players inside and out. Bournville held up the ball well and worked it into threatening positions but unable to make their several short corners count. Late on, awarded a flick Bournville made it 6 at the break.
Now up to 11 and full strength, Sohail slotted in defence and Jeevan moved into midfield. An aerial threat from Jeevan and Jordan got Bournville thinking but not much came from this. A short corner was worked well by Kyle and Jordan, Anthony making the run before the ball was tipped onto his foot. Bournville had much possession but didn’t threaten to find more goals. A few slips back post in home found its way in to give them an 11 goal win. CoB although put through their paces had nothing to take away from the game but the determination to keep going.
