Jeevan Chagger made a great contribution to the EuroHockey Executive Leadership Forum, being able to portray his lived experiences within hockey, and how he has developed an inclusive club culture that does so much to support the community. This allowed delegates from across Europe to see and hear about the best practices club hockey should and can portray. The Club also received EH Small Club of the Year 2021 for their great work.
In 2020, City of Birmingham Hockey Club Mens's and Juniors benefitted from our support in helping clubs to access the Tackling Inequalities Fund in order to help break down barriers to participation in sport following the pandemic. The club used this fund and engaged with Sport Birmingham to develop a Mental Health Team and were recognised by EuroHockey for their great work in increasing the engagement and participation of hockey in the city. CoB Men's and Juniors have also supported at 4 of our Birmingham Inclusive Sports Festivals, enabling young people and adults with varying needs to access hockey in a safe and fun way, adapting to their individual needs.
